Games are about finding the joy in life and in mundane things. They can provide a distraction from reality, but they can also enhance our appreciation for living. The science behind making games has been developing for thousands of years. It is an art form filled with psychology, math, human expression, programming, iteration, sound design and music. Vast amounts of effort go into creating the games we love, and to create a game yourself requires commitment, collaboration, and innovation of the highest degree. We hope that those who join the club will be able to learn about the game creation process and potentially discover their potential to create their own game.
However, games would not have a market to exist in if not for those passionate enough to play and discuss them. Our club also fosters open discussion about the design of we like and dislike, even from those who have no interest in making games of their own. Through collaboration, education, and innovation, we strive to create a place at YU for game developers, designers, and enjoyers to partake in one of the oldest and most influential activities in history, play.

To make people more aware of the ever-changing weather and how it affects us, the climate, and what Brachas we make during certain weather events (ex: Rainbows), and why we make them. Also, to give personalized weather forecasts for those in YU, and help inspire people to be more observant of the weather.

First stated as a simple WhatsApp chat with weekly weather updates from Abie Seif, it now has expanded to over 100 members. Not only does this club already have a functioning club board (government), but the club is unique because (to my knowledge) it’s the first YU club that is doing things democratically. That means referendums on certain decisions and the club board members were elected instead of being selected by the president. During board meetings, the board members vote on agendas which can be anything, ex: from certain club events, to agendas that will improve efficiency of how quickly certain tasks are done.
