The purposes and goals of our club is to make known the experiences as an EMT through personal stories and experiences of long-time first responders. Also to teach life-saving skills such as CPR, choking prevention, bleeding control, etc. Lastly, also to connect student EMTs to a local EMT organization in Washington Heights to allow students to observe, and volunteer within the local community.

In the fantasy book club, we encourage reading books, especially science fiction and fantasy books, by buying them for you and then providing meetings to talk about them, thus forcing you to actually read the books. We read 2-3 books a semester, getting YU to pay for them and then having a meeting to discuss each one, what was interesting about it, and how it compares to other things we have read.

Mission
Games are about finding the joy in life and in mundane things. They can provide a distraction from reality, but they can also enhance our appreciation for living. The science behind making games has been developing for thousands of years. It is an art form filled with psychology, math, human expression, programming, iteration, sound design and music. Vast amounts of effort go into creating the games we love, and to create a game yourself requires commitment, collaboration, and innovation of the highest degree. We hope that those who join the club will be able to learn about the game creation process and potentially discover their potential to create their own game.
However, games would not have a market to exist in if not for those passionate enough to play and discuss them. Our club also fosters open discussion about the design of we like and dislike, even from those who have no interest in making games of their own. Through collaboration, education, and innovation, we strive to create a place at YU for game developers, designers, and enjoyers to partake in one of the oldest and most influential activities in history, play.
